PURPOSE OF POSITION

Managing and leading a team of finance professionals, reporting to the Tower Lead Systems
Accountants.
The management role requires coordinating and planning the activities of finance teams operating in a
shared services environment, initially transitioning activity from, and then providing ongoing support and
process expertise to the Regional Finance Business Partners and Controllers.
The role will oversee areas of financial reconciliation, finance controls and audit preparation, as well as acting
as an interface between in market finance and ops teams using and the technical teams supporting finance
systems and data for issues and upgrades.
KEY RESULTS AREAS
The role holder will have accountability and some responsibility for their team?s initial adoption
of work and then business as usual performance in the following areas:
Financial management:
? Provides direction and operational leadership for all System Accountant processes including
expertise and analysis of the movements between various modules of finance systems (Process
flows and Subledger and GL).
? End to end system knowledge and experience in upgrade/implementation lifecycle.
? Creation of complex SQL?s/ queries/ reports within the system to enable data analysis and
preparation of various reports.
? Preparing & reviewing detailed analysis of variances (data dropped in transit) and explore potential
problems.
? Interfacing with other towers to support more technical query resolution.
? Coordinate with IT development team for potential issues and defects raised.
? Analysing and reporting on external interface communication with core applications.
? Performing continual business control activities including chart of accounts maintenance. exchange
rate updates and accounting period control.
? Support period-end close activities.
? Creating robust controls and checks to highlight any system anomalies.

? Ensure process documentation and preparation/updating of standard operating Procedures
(SOPs) whenever required

Technical competencies
? Excellent people manager with ability to Guide, Coach and Mentor future managers.
? Extensive knowledge of finance ERP systems, including/Preferably Navision/Great Plains and
Peoplesoft. Preferred VMS application knowledge.
? Strong System configuration and data/query capabilities/understanding
? SQL knowledge (Ability to write both basic and complex SQLs along with Optimization)
? Excellent knowledge of MS office.
? Attention to detail.
? Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills.
? Analytical skills ? ability to assemble, compile and analyse Financial/non-financial data.
? Advanced understanding and experience of basic office applications (including MS Office,
Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Preferred PowerBI capability
? Ready to drive changes, initiate projects & perform multiple tasks.
Specific job experience
? Proven excellent people management skills including building and developing high performing
teams.
? Proficient in finance modules (General Ledger, Billing, Receivables, Payables)
? Extensive experience of minimum 8-15 years in end-to-end system configurations and financial
reconciliations.
? Experience of having managed a transition of activities to a shared service as a functional lead.
? Track record of using data and metrics to make insight-driven business decisions.
Qualifications:
? Postgraduate /MBA Finance/Finance/Commerce with at least 5+ years of relevant experience.
? Preferred Qualified Accountant (CIMA etc.).
Situational requirements
? Able to work across multiple time zones; shift work will be required.
? Fluency in written and oral English; Spanish/Portuguese desirable.
